The Greene County girls track and field team placed second at a meet hosted by Perry April 12.
Makala Kafer won the 200m dash in 28.89. Melanie Doran won the 400m hurdles in 1:14.49. Doran and Kater, along with Brianna Osterson and Megan Durbin, won the 4 X 200m relay with a time of 1:53.46. Doran, Sydney Schiltz, Izzy Bravard and Lillian Muir comprised a team that won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:14.74.
In field events, Durbin won the high jump at 5’ 2” and Muir won the long jump at 15’ 7”.
Second place finishes came from Bravard in the 100m hurdles in 18.59; Durbin in the 100m dash in 13.00; the 4 X 100m team of Doran, Osterson, Muir and Durbin with a time of 53.59; and the sprint medley team of Tieryn Tucker, Paige Heaning, Kafer and Osterson in 2:02.64.
Laurin Lyons placed second in the shot put at 32’ 11” and Onica Delp placed second in the discus at 90’ 11”.
Muir finished third in the 400m hurdles in 1:16.35 and Brooklyn Olson placed third in the shot put with a throw of 32’ 6”.
Team scores were North Polk 174, Greene County 127, Webster City 85, Perry81, Roland-Story 68, and Winterset 40.
